Les lignes de tramway disparates qui traversent San Francisco font une partie du charme de cette ville. La dernière fois que j'y étais j'ai voulu tenter de capturer des filés de tramways sur market street. Loin d'être parfait (je dois continuer à bosser la technique) mais cette photo est un début.

The tramway lines that criss-cross San Francisco are part of the city's charm. Last time I was there I tried to capture panned shots of the trams on Market street. Still far from perfect (I need to work on the technique) but this shot is a start.

J'ai déjà tenté des représentations différentes du Golden Gate bridge (ici, d'en haut côté Sausolito), donc lors de mon dernier voyage j'ai essayé de me placer plus bas. Cette photo est prise depuis Crissy Fields. Comme elle était fortement contrastée, je me suis dit qu'un sépia clair marcherait bien. Qu'en pensez-vous ?

I've already tried different representations of the Golden Gate bridge (here from high up on the Sausolito side), so during my last trip I tried to get a lower angled shot. This one is shot from Crissy Fields. Since the shot was very contrasted, I thought a light sepia would work well. What do you think ?

La dernière fois que je m'étais rendu à San Francisco j'avais été surpris de tomber, sur Market street au coucher du soleil, sur un batteur de rue. Le gars avec un kit complet et jouait lourd, mais impressionant. Je l'ai revu la semaine dernière, mais cette fois ci j'avais mon appareil !

The last time I went to San Francisco I was amazed to stumble, at dusk on Market street, on a street drummer. The guy had a full kit and played heavy, but impressive. I saw him again last week, but this time I had my camera with me!

En descendant Geary boulevard pour aller vers la mer, je tombe sur cette église orthodoxe Russe. Au coeur de San Francisco. Etonnant, non ?

Cruising along Geary boulevard to get out to the sea, I stumble upon this Russian orthodox church. In the heart of San Francisco. Astonishing, isn't it ?

La semaine dernière j'ai téléchargé l'appli photo Snapseed pour ipad. Je vous en reparlerais plus longuement, mais histoire de tester la bête, je vais essayer de poster des photos uniquement traitées avec Snapseed cette semaine. Pour commencer, une photo prise à mon arrivée à Washington DC hier.

Last week I loaded an ipad photo app called Snapseed. I'll tell you more about it later, but in order to test the thing this week I'll post only photos processed with Snapseed. For starters, a photo shot on my arrival in DC yesterday evening.

Une autre photo du jongleur de torches que j'avais suivi il y a quelques mois. Précédemment, je l'avais montré soufflant ses torches, cette photo était un peu antérieure, alors qu'il jonglait encore. 

Another shot of the fire juggler I showed a few months ago. I had previously shown him blowing his torches, this shot is from a little earlier, when he was still juggling.

Selon où vous regardez depuis Kowloon, les couleurs de la nuit Hong-Kongaise sont très différentes. En contraste avec cette photo dans les jaunes/orangés, celle-ci est plutôt dans les bleus et rouges.

Depending where you look from Kowloon, the colors of the Hong-Kong night are very different. Contrasting with this yellow/orange photo, this new one is in the blues and reds.

Une photo qui date de l'an dernier et que je n'avais pas retravaillée correctement jusqu'à récemment. J'aime bien le contraste entre l'environnement de pierre claire et le corbeau lui-même. 

A shot from last year that I'd never reworked decently until recently. I like the contrast between the light stone environment and the crow itself.

La vue de Hong-Kong depuis le 118è étage de la nouvelle tour ICC est impressionante. Malheureusement, comme toutes les photos effectuées à travers une vitre, celle-ci à souffert de certains aléas: marques de pluie, traces bizarres et ISO élevé résidu des photos de nuit de la veille... Du coup, j'ai joué de ces défauts pour créer une photo en contraste impossible: un sepia vignetté dans le style des vieilles photos montrant une des villes les plus modernes du monde...

The view of Hong-Kong from the 118th floor of the new ICC tower is impressive. Sadly, like many photos shot through a window this one suffered: rain marks, strange scratches, very high ISO left from the previous evening's night shots... I decided to leverage these defects and create a shot with an impossible contrast: an old vignette laden sepia in the style of old photos showing one of the most modern cities in the world...
